Flattering Wedding Hairstyles for Long Hair

Weddings – they’re the only times when we can revel in fun and romance and think of nothing else.  Just for that one single moment, fairy tales do come true.  Happily ever after?  Let’s think about that once honeymoon’s over. But in the meantime, let’s celebrate love, romance and new beginnings.  Whether you’re the bride or part of the wedding entourage, or maybe you’re just the guest, weddings are something a lot of people look forward to.  Aside from catching up with friends and relatives, the good food and wine, and the dancing and laughter, weddings are the only times when we get to dress up and not worry about going overboard.
So you’ve got the perfect dress.  You’re a pro at make-up and already have something in mind.  How about your hairstyle?  You know that all three – dress, make-up, and hair – should come together beautifully.  Well, this article’s going to hopefully spark an idea and help you get started.
1.      ELEGANT UPDO

Nothing spells elegance than a clean and sleek updo.  This hairstyle will look great on you if you have straight hair.  If you have wavy hair, you need to grab that flat iron to straighten your mane.  Part the hair sideways and form a French bun style.  Use a simple and elegant jeweled pin to accessorize this soft and delicate updo.

What can be more romantic than this hairstyle?  With face-framing layers, long sideswept bangs, and hair pulled back into an updo, this is a dreamy, romantic updo that will complement any dress.  To style your hair using this idea, comb you hair. Then scoop all the hair back, and secure them in a simple bun, using a rubber band. Then take out small hair strands from the sides, and near the nape of neck.
3.      BRAIDED UPDO

If you have ultra-long tresses, braiding is an excellent way to add a new and refreshing twist – no pun intended – to a wedding updo hairstyle.  Braiding is also an excellent choice if you’ve always preferred your hair to be au naturel – no flat irons, no hair colors, even no hairstyling products!  You don’t have to use too many styling products or heat-based styling tools in braiding.  Braided updos can be elegant as long as the updo is clean and sleek.  But if you want a look that evokes memories of princesses in a picturesque countryside, then have a braided updo that’s loose with loose wavy strands of hair framing the face.
4.      SIDE PONYTAILS

Side ponytails are perfect for you if you have long hair.  Look at the first picture.  That’s the Imp Twist Side Ponytail.  It’s a soft side swept pony with a twist through the crown section connecting into the main pony tail.  Add a few strands to frame the face and it’s a simple yet romantic do.  The second side ponytail sported by Carrie Underwood is called the Mermaid Style Ponytail.  And the last picture shows a clean, sleek ponytail aptly called the Sleek and Sexy Side Ponytail.  Instructions on how to do these side ponytails, along with other variations.
Actually, you don’t even have to go to a wedding just to have these hairstyles.  If the hairstyles in this article have actually made you feel as pretty as a princess, who says you can’t look and feel that way every day?

5.      HALF-UPDOS

Half-updos or half-up half-down hairdo is the easiest hairstyle you can do.  Although this can be worn by any hair type, this hairstyle works best with wavy or curly hair.  If you’ve got stick-straight hair, don’t fret.  Grab that curling iron and curl away!  Once you have your curly locks, pull half of your hair back using the ends of your eyebrows as a guide. Bring hair up to the top of your head and secure with bobby pins for a loose look or a barrette for a tight, sleek style. Sweep bangs or short layers to the side or part down the middle to frame your face.  That’s all there is to it.
